Am I entitled to a refund for my magazine subscription?
Recurring subscriptions
If you pay for a magazine subscription using a recurring payment method, such as Direct Debit or recurring card, you can cancel your subscription at any time.
When you cancel, your subscription will stay active until the end of your current paid period, or the next term if a payment is pending. No further payments will be taken after this, and when the paid-for term ends you will no longer receive printed issues.
Refunds are not available after the 14-day cooling-off period, outside of instances where statutory rights apply.
Prepaid subscriptions
Prepaid subscriptions can be cancelled within the 14‑day cooling‑off period, when they are eligible for a full refund if the conditions set out below are met (see "14-day cooling off period").
When you cancel a prepaid subscription outside of the cooling-off period we can stop any further renewal communications and will only deliver issues you have already paid for.
Refunds are not available after the 14-day cooling-off period, outside of instances where statutory rights apply.
When you may be entitled to a refund
14-day cooling-off period
You can cancel your magazine subscription from when you take it out until 14 days after receipt of your first issue (or receipt of the welcome gift in the case of Beano Fan Club or where a welcome gift is dispatched before a magazine).
If you cancel within the cooling-off period, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid. We may ask you to return any products or gifts you have received, at your own cost, and we can hold your refund until we receive the items back or you provide proof that you have sent them. We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value where items have been handled more than was necessary.
Missing or delayed issues
If a single issue is missing or delayed, we'll send a replacement copy or extend your subscription. A refund is not available for a one-off delivery issue.
If three or more consecutive issues have delivery issues that we do not put right, you may choose a refund for the issues you did not receive or to cancel the remainder of your paid subscription and receive a refund for the undelivered portion.
Faulty or damaged issues
If an issue is faulty and you contact us within 30 days of receiving it, you can choose either a replacement copy, a subscription extension or a refund for that issue.
How long do refunds take?
If you're entitled to a refund, we'll process it as quickly as possible.
For cancellations made within the cooling-off period, refunds are normally issued within 14 days of either receiving the returned items or receiving evidence that they have been returned, whichever is earlier.
