How do I cancel a subscription for someone who has died?

If the person who has died is the recipient of the subscription and not the bill payer then the bill payer can cancel the subscription using our regular process as described here.

If the person who has died was paying for a subscription through ourselves then there are a few things we will need in order to get that cancelled. Please email refunds@dcthomson.co.uk with:

  • A copy of the death certificate
  • The name and full address of the deceased
  • The name and full address of the executor of the estate
  • Your full name and address if you are not the executor of the estate

If possible please let us know what it is that was subscribed to but if you are unsure we will be able to use the subscribers details to find that.

For physical comic or magazine subscriptions, we can either redirect any outstanding copies to a new address or, if preferred, stop future deliveries and arrange a refund where appropriate. As our subscription address labels are prepared in advance of publication, there may be up to four upcoming issues that we’re unable to stop from being delivered.

If you are not able to email us then please see here for more contact details.
