What should I do if my print magazine subscription requires a payment update?
If your print magazine subscription payment cannot be processed, your subscription will be suspended and your account will show as having a balance to pay. We will write to you to let you know.
You’ll need to take action if you wish your subscription to continue. You can make payment online through the Manage my subscription platform.
When you log into you account you will see an alert regarding the balance to pay. Click on the alert or navigate to "Pay my bill" and follow the instructions to complete the transaction.
If you pay by a recurring payment method like Direct Debit or recurring card, the payment information will normally be used for future payments on your subscription. It will be clear at the point at which you pay the bill that your subscription is recurring.
Taking action as soon as possible maximises the chances of restarting your subscription without any gap in deliveries. If you do not act, your subscription will end once all of the issues you have paid for have been served.
The option to pay the balance will be available in your online account for 16 weeks after a failed payment. After this time you will see the option to renew the subscription or you can take out a new subscription on our website.
For information on using Manage my subscription, see How do I manage my print magazine subscription online?
Why has my payment failed?
A payment failure can happen for several reasons – for example if your card or bank details have changed, if funds weren't available at the time of payment or if a Direct Debit has been cancelled with the bank (intentionally or unintentionally).
What if I have a balance to pay for a non-subscription product order?
If your payment for a non-subscription product cannot be processed, we will write to you to let you know. You will need to contact our customer experience team to settle the balance over the phone, and that will release your order for dispatch.
